Fair Play and Anti-Fraud Policy

Draft for pre-launch. Last updated 2 October 2026.

In short

  • Only real views from real people count. Bought views, bots, view-for-view groups and engagement pods are banned.
  • Paid boosts are not allowed unless the Mission says so, and boosted views are not paid unless it says so.
  • One person, one ClipMissions account. No farming a Mission with extra accounts, reuploads or copied edits.
  • Keep approved Clips live for the Minimum Live Period, with honest titles and thumbnails.
  • We check with insights proof, platform data, pattern checks and a human review before any final decision.
  • Outcomes range from a warning to a ban, always proportionate, always with reasons, and you can appeal.

This summary helps you read the page. The full text below is what applies.

1. Why fair play matters

ClipMissions only works if Brands can trust that they pay for real attention and honest Clippers can trust that they are not losing budget to cheats. Fake views take money from honest Clippers, mislead Brands, break platform rules and can break the law. This policy explains what is not allowed, how we check and what happens when someone breaks the rules.

This policy forms part of our Terms of Use, Clipper Terms and Brand Terms. It applies once Missions go live.

2. Who this applies to

This policy applies to every Clipper and every Brand, and to anyone acting with them or for them. You are responsible for anything done to inflate your Clip's views, whether you did it yourself or someone did it for you with your knowledge.

We understand that people can be targeted by others who send fake traffic to their posts. If you see suspicious activity on your Clip that you did not cause, tell us straight away. Reporting it promptly will count strongly in your favour.

3. What is not allowed

Artificial views and engagement

  • buying views, likes, comments, shares, saves or followers, from any seller or service;
  • using bots, scripts, emulators, click farms, automated accounts or any software that generates views;
  • view-for-view, like-for-like or follow-for-follow arrangements, and engagement pods or groups that exist to inflate numbers;
  • paying, rewarding or pressuring people to watch, replay or engage with a Clip, including through giveaways or contests, unless the Mission expressly allows a specific promotion;
  • using VPNs, proxies or other methods to fake the location of views; and
  • embedding or auto-playing a Clip in places designed to inflate views without real viewing, such as hidden players or looping pages.

Accounts and identity

  • holding more than one ClipMissions account, or using another person's ClipMissions account;
  • using multiple social media accounts, or accounts of friends or family, to farm one Mission or get around per-Clipper caps;
  • using accounts you do not own and control, including bought, rented or shared accounts;
  • giving false information about your identity, age, location, accounts or payout details; and
  • taking part as a Clipper in a Mission for a Brand you own, work for or are closely connected with, without telling us and getting our agreement.

Content and posting

  • reuploading another Clipper's or creator's edit, or submitting a lightly changed copy of a Clip as a new one;
  • posting the same Clip several times or across several accounts to collect more views, unless the Mission allows cross-posting;
  • misleading thumbnails, titles or captions that do not reflect the Clip, used to attract clicks;
  • deleting, archiving, hiding, making private or restricting an approved Clip before its Minimum Live Period ends, without our approval;
  • removing or hiding a disclosure after a Clip is approved; and
  • submitting a link to a post that is not yours, or submitting the same post to more than one Mission.

Evidence and process

  • editing, faking or selectively cropping insights screenshots or recordings to misstate performance;
  • trying to influence our reviewers by gifts, payments or threats; and
  • colluding with other Clippers, Brands or anyone else to get around this policy.

4. Paid boosts

Paid promotion of a Clip, such as a boosted post or an ad campaign, is not allowed unless the Mission Brief expressly allows it. Even where boosting is allowed, views from paid promotion are not paid as Verified Views unless the Mission Brief says they are. If you boost a Clip, tell us when you submit it, and keep the platform's records of the boost.

5. Accounts we accept

You may link more than one social media account if you genuinely own and run each one, declare each one to us and pass our verification. Each account may submit a Clip to a Mission only as the Mission allows, and any per-Clipper cap applies to you across all of your accounts combined.

6. How we check

We use a combination of the following. No single signal decides a case on its own.

  • Insights proof. We may ask for screenshots or a screen recording of a Clip's insights, showing views, watch time, audience location, traffic sources and dates. We may ask for a live screen share or a fresh recording if something looks inconsistent.
  • Platform data. We check public view counts and, where you choose to connect an account through the platform's official login, the data the platform makes available.
  • Pattern checks. We look for patterns that suggest artificial activity, such as sudden spikes, views far out of line with the account's usual reach, unusual audience locations, very low watch time, comments that look automated, new or inactive accounts, and links between accounts that should be independent.
  • Duplicate checks. We compare Submissions with each other and with publicly available content to detect copies and reuploads.
  • Manual review. A trained person reviews every case before we make a final decision to reject a Submission, recover money or suspend an account.

We may use specialist tools or service providers to help with these checks. Their use is covered by our Privacy Notice.

7. What we may do

Our response depends on how serious the problem is, whether it was deliberate, whether it has happened before and how you respond. Possible outcomes are:

OutcomeWhen it is typically used
A warning or a request to fix somethingA minor first problem, such as a caption label in the wrong place
Not counting some viewsPart of a Clip's views are not genuine or not eligible, such as boosted views or views before a disclosure was fixed
Rejecting a SubmissionThe Clip breaks the brief or our guidelines in a way that cannot be fixed
Holding a Clipper FeeWe have a genuine concern and need time to investigate. The hold applies only to the Submissions concerned
Recovering a payout (clawback)We find after payment that views were artificial or a Submission was not eligible
Suspending an accountSerious or repeated breaches, while we investigate or as a sanction
Permanent banDeliberate fraud, faked evidence, organised view manipulation or repeated serious breaches
ReportingSerious fraud may be reported to the platform concerned and, where appropriate, to the authorities

For every outcome other than a simple warning, we will tell you what we decided and why, unless the law or an ongoing investigation prevents it. Approved Clipper Fees for other Submissions that are not affected remain payable.

8. Clawback

If we have already paid for views or a Submission that turn out not to be eligible, we may recover the amount paid for the affected views or Submission, within the time limit and under the safeguards in the Clipper Terms. In short: we tell you first, show you a summary of the evidence, give you at least seven days to respond, recover only the affected amount, usually by setting it off against future fees, and you can appeal. Brands are credited for views we remove, as the Brand Terms explain.

9. Fair play for Brands

Brands must not buy views or engagement for Clips, pressure Clippers to use artificial methods, or offer Clippers private rewards outside the Mission. Brands must not ask for or use Clippers' personal data beyond what the Brand Terms allow. A Brand that breaks this policy may have its Mission paused or ended, under the Brand Terms.

10. Appeals

If you disagree with a decision under this policy, you can appeal.

  1. Send your appeal to [grievance email] within [appeal window] of our decision, with "Appeal" in the subject line.
  2. Say which decision you are appealing, why you think it is wrong, and attach any evidence, such as fresh insights recordings or platform records.
  3. We will acknowledge your appeal within 24 hours.
  4. A different person from the one who made the original decision will review it.
  5. We will give you a reasoned decision within 7 days.

If you are still unhappy, the escalation routes on the Grievance Redressal and Contact page remain open to you, as does the dispute process in the Terms of Use.

11. Reporting fraud

If you see someone breaking this policy, or someone offers you a way to fake views, please tell us at [grievance email]. We will keep your identity confidential unless the law requires us to disclose it, and we will not take action against anyone based only on an unverified report.
